THE END

I think it is my last entrance, because I had my last class. So, everything has an end, and it is the end of the English 3. For that reason, I am going to talk about my experience in this course. My first entrance was about my first day of class, my first impression, but It was four months ago. So, How has helped me English 3?

Well, English 3 was a different adventure, because I got an outgoing professor. It was a little hard, since she did not speak hardly any in Spanish. But, I supposed it is part of the learning process she uses to teach well. I saw many topics I had already seen. Nevertheless, I learned someone distinct such as: future perfect, future continuous, the correct use of hard and hardly, the different ways to use the used to, and a lot of vocabulary.

Some topics were easier than others, but for the hard topics, the professor used to do activities to enjoy the subject while we were practicing and learning. The environment has much influence in the learning process, the teacher charge it didn’t use tired but it used be funny. My classmates used to be nice. We used to be so friendly.

The teacher gave us a lot of support since the first day of class. She said, everybody can speak English, it doesn’t matter if you don’t have a good pronunciation the important is to communicate. Additionally, during the whole course, she gave us extra practices to do online and improve what we had learned that day. The greatest thing I standout of her, it is the willingness to teach, and the way she keeps the motivation by something simple like a candy.  

She wanted helping people who English was hard. She takes importance to that kind of people, it shows that she have the vocation to be a teacher. Also, she was so responsible. She never came late and she always brought the necessary to give the class.

In the whole course, there was a thing I was disagreeing, it is the final test. I found it a little unfair, because how is going to be possible that all you effort and dedication of the course that you gave, will be it show in a couple of sheets? But, it is not the professor fault. I even talked with her about this situation, and she was in the right because she wasn't who designed this evaluation.

It is time of happy dance !!!

 In general, I got an amazing experience. I learned pretty much. I enjoyed the whole process. I think, an important part of the learning process, it is going to depend form ourselves. How anxious do I feel to learn? How motivated do am I?. The effort I want to give and many factors who the only person that can decide is ourselves. Finally, I take advantage of this blog to give the thanks to the teacher for every candy and every day she spent on us. I close with this sentence, “You get what you give”

SPORTS

It is a way to enjoy and be healthy. If we talk about sports, we would never end the conversation. That’s why I am going to talk about what I consider the most funniest.

There are a lot of kinds of sports. These were adapted to the weather and environment. There are many sports that they are quite extreme, and others that are less extreme. But the true is that it is funny to eject. So, as there are some sports, we are just going to make mention of many of them.

The water sports are very fresh. Surf is exciting because one gets to be on the waves and to take the control of them. At the beach, you can enjoy water skiing; it will make your adrenaline going up to its maximum level.  Also, we get to do kayaking; it is another extreme sport, but it is more common in rivers. Its principal factor is speed. Yet, canoeing is a more easy-going sport than those and this sport has a wide variety of tournaments. If you don’t like extreme sports, you will like fishing, since you can catch fish without touching the water. It is even perfect to enjoy it with all the family.

Mountain sports change depending if it is winter or summer. You have to go to the up of the mountain to do snowboarding. It is like skateboarding, only without the wheels and falling on the concrete. Also, skiing is another extreme sport that is similar to snowboarding. The difference is that you don’t use a board. Whereas, in skiing you use skies and two gears which support you. Climbing is something you can do also during summer, yet the principal element used to do this sport it is a rope. If you like to take risks, let’s go climbing. Also, hiking is a good way to watch the diversity and at the same time to spend time with the family.

What about the most common sports? Basketball, tennis, volleyball, baseball, and soccer. This last one is the one that makes people feel anxious, cry and many feelings more. Also, it is the sport which people earn the most money. Definitely, soccer moves everybody. Every four years, everybody waits for the FIFA World Cup. People even go to the host country to support their own country. All the TV sport programs talk about at least of 60% of the time specifically about soccer.

Skydiving is an established extreme sport since he has been around for quite some time. This sport consist in jumping from a small plane into the sky, then one pulls the parachute rope and one slows down until one arrives to the ground. As scary as it seems, it has become so popular that many couples get married while they’re skydiving.

A new kind of extreme sports are surging more and more, one of those being parkour. Parkour consists of running while doing stunts. Normally, this kind of sport isn’t dangerous; however, depending on the action or complexity of the stunt, it might be a risky thing to do. Nevertheless, this sport has become so popular that movie directors hire them to do stunt work. Let me show you a video:

The important thing here is that sports are activities that people enjoy doing. It also keeps people out of drugs. It is a good way to spend our time.

PASSIVE VOICE

I am a student like you. Last class we learned the passive voice. That is why I am making this kind of “tutorial”. I think it will help you if you are in the same situation.

It is not as hard as we believe. It is the same as in Spanish language. You need to follow the structure and you will do it very good. It is divided into two types, actives and passives. So, let me show a box.

SIMPLE PRESENT	Jhon buy a new car	A new car is bought by John every year
PRESENT PROGRESSIVE	Jhon is buying a new car	A new car is being bought by Jhon

I made this box for an easy learning. So, you can see that in the Active sentences, the verb is different by the time it is (simple pasta, simple present, present progressive, etc.).  

The subject and the object change the order. In actives, the subject is going to be first. In passives, the subject is going to be at the end.

Nevertheless, in the passive voice the verb always is the same, that‘s why you ever must to use the verb in past participle.

Also, the verb to be change look at the box en you can notice it. I hope you get it clearer than before.

My recommendation is to practice. In the internet you can find a lot of pages to practice this. Some web sites are better than others, because sometime show a mistake only for a letter that you didn`t add.  So, don`t feel afraid if you don’t get a hundred percent. I will give u many pages to practice and to get an extra explanation.

TRAVELING

D o you know where are you going to travel for your next vacations? Well, if you yet don’t know. Costa Rica will be a good option. It is considered one of the 25 countries with most biodiversity. Costa Rica is located on Central American. It is between Panama and Nicaragua. There is 51.100 km² of area. Also, Costa Rica has a lot of biodiversity with more of 360 kinds of species. There are many beaches, volcanoes, rivers and mountains to enjoy. So, you can come to Costa Rica and enjoy the culture, food and a peaceful surrounding. Come on to know the happiest country in the world.

D o you like rainforest and animals? Costa Rica is home of monkeys, snakes, sloths and almost 900 types of birds. Costa Rica rainforests has comfortable “senderos” to delight the amazing view. You can walk among its spectacular high treetops. Furthermore, Incredible

Volcanoes such as Miravalles, Arenal, Turrialba, Irazú and Poás. The last one has seven craters.

All the volcanoes are surrounded of beautiful vegetation. Even, you might meet the majestic Lake Arenal near the Arenal Volcano. Moreover, some of these places are cold but, it is not a problem take pleasure in Hot springs. Hot springs are perfect to relaxing. You might enjoying it while see the environment.

Impossible don’t make mention of the delicious beaches. Costa Rica has nearly 300 different beaches, many of them especially for surfing. The boat tours are good for see dolphins or another kind of marine animal. The diving will be an unforgettable experience.

Which activities would you to do? Do you like extreme exports in the air? Canopy and

bungee will be to your liking. Canopy you can feel the air and the adrenalin while cross a wonderful rainforest. On the other hand, Bungee will make you feel that you are falling direct to a river but, a special rope will prevent it.

Besides, if you prefer the water, to practice rafting and kayaking in our rivers would like you. This Country has special rivers to do it. Otherwise, surfing and kite surfing will do that you enjoy in a different way the Costa Rica's beaches. This and others sports take part of the activities that you can do if you come to Costa Rica.

Additionally, this country is popular for the party environment. The people who live in this country, they really like the parties. It is part of be a Costa Rican.

SCHOOL DAYS

When I was in school, I was hyperactive. Everything used to be easier than today. Problems take over our life. It was complicated to take in how other people were able to read.  I just had to worry about playing with friends and to pick up my toys. Nevertheless, the school took part in our learning.

We just have to worry about play with friends and to pick up our toys. Our only job was to do all the homework. Furthermore, we used to go to bed early. We used to spend all our energy and we just needed to rest an hour to regain again. We used to not have any problems. The only problem was forgetting the extra class work.

I used to anxiously and happily buy the school supplies. The thrill of the first day of school was amazing. We felt nervous because we wanted to be with our friends in the same class. It is funny to remember that we used to carry all our notebooks in our back pack, only to show off all our cool covers to our classmates.

The hardest part of going to school was having to get up early. But, school breaks were better back then. We used to have the power of converting a simple bottle in an excellent ball. We used to have the energy to play all day. All the money was for candies. Although, our moms told us “do not spend your money on candies”. We could be talking a lot but, if you get a “boleta” you had to take everything in stride. Indeed, we enjoyed life.

Each new kid that we used to meet, we took to him/her immediately. Getting angry, it was an issue of seconds. Even, falling in love was a disaster. It is ironic that when we were kids, the boys ran away from girls but, after we try to inspire love onto to them. It was not something to take importance a few years ago. It began to take off after ten years.

We used to think that math was hard. But, now you find other things difficult. We used to have vacations. We used to expect for them anxiously. However, we used to do our exams before going to vacations. Also, before classes began we used have to make a review of the last topics. Come back at school was a change of lifestyle. 

MOVIES

About history of…….

The history of the movies began in 1890’s. The first movie was projected in París in the end of the XIX century. It lasted minutes. The first Academy Awards was on May 16 of 1929, now it is called Oscar Awards. The event was in Hollywood city. Where 270 people attended. The cost of the ticket was five dollars per person.

Kinds of movies…..

There are a lot of kinds of movies. But, which are the most common? Comedy films are made to laugh and enjoy, they are films designed to elicit laughter from the audience. Horror films are designed to make people feel fear and panic. They cause dread and alarm. Science fiction films are designed to commute people to an unreal world. Also, the action films, they has fast and dangerous activities. They have fights and adventure.

How much do you know about the actors role?

The actors are essential to make movies. They give life what the director wrote. In fact, they have to memorize long roles. If you want to be an actor, you must act excellent. But, there is something interesting. When they have to make dangerous scenes, the role is made by a stunt. A stunt double is the person who substitutes him/her. Oh yeah, It is so sad to find out that the person who jumps out of a building, jumps from vehicle to vehicle, or makes other similar actions, he is not the real actor. Obviously, the stunt double has to be physically similar to the famous actor.

Places where the movies are filmed!

The movies are filmed in a film studio. The set has everything they need. Indeed, it is enormous and it has different scenarios which are adapted to the required scenarios. There are a lot of sets around the world. Furthermore, there is a part of the movie that it is not filmed there. The co-production is edit on a computer. Some details are made digitally. For example some special effects.

We like to watch movies….

It doesn’t matter what kind of movie, everybody has seen one, and they have enjoyed it. People like to spend time with their family, and watch a movie, it is a good option. Boys use to go to the cinema with a girl to give some kiss her. Finally, we can get a small idea that to produce a movie, it is not as easy as we thought.  

TAG QUESTIONS

Hello, I am going to explain you a topic that I learned in my English class. The tag questions.

They have an easy structure. The tag questions are a statement. Then, you must add a mini-question, this mini-question is called “Question Tag”.

For example:

                      She is tall, isn’t she?

It’s used to make affirmations. It’s very common to ask for confirmation. It means, when the people need to know if something is true or not. It’s like when people say am I right? Those questions are very used in English. In CR people say “Ella es bonita, verdad?”

So, I’m going to show you an image. It’s to make it clearer.

Notice that when the statement is positive, the question tag must be negative. Furthermore, if the statement is negative, the question tag must be positive.

Also, you can see that after the statement you must add a comma. Then, write the question tag. People mostly use contractions.

 EXAMPLES:

• She’s beautiful, isn’t she?
• You don't really love her, do you?
• She ate hamburgers, didn`t she?

With Modal Verbs

• I couldn't help it, could I?
• We'd never have known, would we?
• You should help me, shouldn’t you?
• She can’t dance, can she?
• You’ll tell me “if she calls”, won't you?
•  She hasn’t eaten, has she?
• He had known it, hadn’t he?

Be careful if you use adverbs of frequency, because it would make the statement negative or positive.

Example:

• You never come on time, do you?
• She can hardly love him after all that, can she?

It is clear, isn’t? Well, if you don’t get it, perhaps would be, because for  you  is easier listening than reading. So, I leave you with a video. This video is an abstract of the lesson.

MY ADMIRED CHARACTER

Jesus is the character who I admire. He is a god example of real love, because God gaves his only son to save us all. We could fallow his steps for have a nice lifestyle. Everything is better when you get him. He apologize us through all that he suffered. He did it because, He loves us. Furthermore, if you’re with him nobody would damage your.

He came to the world to make miracles, but also, He came to suffer. He has all the power. The life was created by him. The amazing world was made by him. He doesn’t wear a costume hero. However, He is the better of all the superheroes. We can't see him. But, We believe in him.

He is always with us. He always will be next to us. When I don’t feel so strong and I think my world is falling, I talk to him and He gives me all that I need to continue the life. We can meet him in the Bible. 

He is going to help you if you are in a trouble. You must to know that before you ask him for something, He will have known what you need and He's going to give you if it's necessary.

FIRST DAY OF CLASS

It was a normal first day. You are so nervous because you don’t know how the professor will be. You are so anxious to know who your classmates will be, just  not feel alone in the class. Personally, I was going with a diffirent perspective because, I hate that the first day it's always  the same in every class.

For example, the professor talks about his/her amazing curriculum. Then, the student presentation and the professor tells us: “Please guys tell me your name, what are you studying? If you work or not and where? Where do you live?” And everybody begins to answer the questions. I think it’s pretty boring.

I came to class and the teacher greeted us. I was ready for the boring process of the first day. However, it was really different. The professor completely changed the panorama. I noticed she’s a dynamic professor. She made a different first day. She didn’t ask us the common questions; On the contrary, she made funny questions. She broke the ice between students and professor.

About the professor, she looks interesting. She’s a little strict. She’s really prepared and the right person for teach us. Something that I liked was that she has vocation to teach. The professor loves what she does.  In my opinion, this last is really necessary to have an excellent learning process.

Now, I know that I have to come early because, she doesn't like people coming late to class. I’m going to be responsible with my homework. I'll learn a lot of at the end of the course. I want to have more knowledges than before. Finally, I feel so happy of have an excellent teacher.
